The situation
Edexcel is the UK's largest awarding body offering academic and vocational qualifications and testing to schools, colleges, employers and other places of learning in the UK and internationally. They have an extensive network of examiners and trainers, drawn from the education profession, working UK wide.
Where we came in
The Development Manager at Edexcel co-ordinates a diverse team of trainers; working at separate points throughout the UK. Each member of the training team has their own style and training personality, and delivers the training programme in their own, preferred fashion.
In the past, Edexcel had delivered their Train the Trainer course in-house, but felt they needed someone to come in and shake things up a little.
Opposite Leg Creative Training and Development specialise in shaking things up a little. We created a train the trainer session especially for Edexcel, making sure that each trainer’s individual methods and experience were respected, while standardising the training delivery across the team and providing a fresh approach, exciting to training.
We took some of the trainers out of their comfort zones and led them to a new understanding of the many possibilities and options available to a trainer.
We certainly shook up their training style and left them feeling inspired and motivated about their role. After all, if you are not inspired about training, what hope have you of inspiring your trainees?
